LIDS Student Conference Committee
The LIDS Student Conference Committee organizes this annual two-day conference. A flagship event for the lab, the conference features distinguished plenary speakers, panel discussions, and most importantly, an opportunity for students to showcase their research to the wider MIT community.
LIDS Socials Committee
The LIDS Socials Committee organizes a variety of social events for the LIDS community, ranging from casual afternoon snacks to larger outdoor activities like barbecues and sailing on the Charles River. These events offer opportunities for connection, networking, and building a strong sense of community within LIDS.
LIDS Postdoc Committee
The LIDS Postdoc Committee plays a key role in fostering connection, collaboration, and visibility for the postdoc community. Through regular gatherings, online engagement, and special events, the committee helps create a vibrant, supportive environment for postdocs at LIDS.
LIDS Tea Talks Committee
The LIDS Tea Talk Committee runs this weekly series. The tea talks (Stats, Autonomy or Sustainability) are informal chalk-talks by students and postdocs to share their research and practice presenting their work. It's also a great way for the community to learn about the latest research happening in the lab.
LIDS Seminars Student Liaison Volunteer
LIDS Seminar speakers are paired with student liaisons who welcome them, coordinate their schedule for the day, including lunch and dinner. It’s a great opportunity to connect with invited researchers, represent LIDS, and build relationships in your field.
Sign-up forms are circulated August/September for the coming academic year. Contact LIDS-events@mit.edu to learn about any off-cycle positions that may be available.
